Course programme
The course consists of one day per week of high quality classroom teaching for the first 22 weeks of the course delivered by our expert and qualified teacher trainers and then more flexible study for the remainder of the year.
You complete several assignments during the course, are observed delivering teaching on eight occasions and must deliver approximately 150 hours of teaching during the lifetime of the course.
On completion you will gain the City and Guilds Level 5 DTLLS qualification which allows you then to work as a trainer or teacher in adult learning or in the 11+ sector and allows you to apply for Qualified Teacher Status (QTLS) with the Institute For Learning.
City and Guilds are the biggest and most widely recognised of all Awarding Organisations with the strongest track record in teacher training.
If you have already completed your PTLLS or CTLLS or have other qualifications that give you exemptions you can join the course at various points in the year and pay a lower fee.
We have courses running on different days of the week including a Saturday course starting in September.
Lunch and refreshments are provided at all workshops.
We have Direct Claims Status meaning a fast turn around of certificates and are Training Quality Standard Accredited - a measure of excellence in the delivery of training and development.
