Dynamic Movement Awareness is especially designed to develop the body and the mind so that they work together in harmony. During the classes we will pursue sensation thoughts and feeling while in movement. Exploring living anatomy in order to understand movement, strength and flexibility. Course programme
The class will draw from various movement practices such as Alexander technique, movement shiatsu, Feldenkrais, and Yoga.
Throughout the course each week we will move according to a particular process such as;
• Coordinating breathing and movement.
• Pause and observe the relationship of the body mind.
• Slow and gradual movement.
• Eliminate effort that causes too much contraction leading to stiffness.
• Use the muscle of the back and sensing lengthening of the spine.
• Simultaneous action of growing taller and grounding.
• Finding earth and sky. Being.
Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat if you have one.
Depending on the class’s ability we will explore further movement practices such as contact improvisation , spiralling movement that resonate with nature in order to enrich and extend our sense of form, space and movement.
