Course outline
A two year course which is equivalent to a single A level. The course looks at a variety of the skills used in the developing e-media workplace. All software used is that used in the commercial world.
Year one
Areas covered during the first year include research techniques used in the new Media industries, digital graphics in the world of print and the web, developing your own stop motion animation using similar techniques to those used by the professionals.
Year two
A further three units will be studied including using web authoring software to create dynamic web sites, creating Flash animations (vector based animation) for incorporation in an existing web site or as a complete web site in its own right and advertising CD production.
During the second year you will have the time to go back and improve your grades on first year units.

How you will learn
A significant part of your learning will be carried out on the college network of computers using a virtual learning environment (VLE). This means you will always have help available and be able to access the learning materials outside lessons.
How you will be assessed
All of your assessment will involve coursework that will involve you in working on your own outside lesson times. Having acquired the necessary skills you will be required to apply them in the development of solutions to a variety of assignments.
Other complementary subjects
Although many students will combine this with Art courses, other possibilities include English Language, Communication Studies, Business Studies and Psychology.

Several Universities have multimedia or Digital Graphics courses.
Job opportunities are extensive, as are the opportunities for setting up your own business.
