Course description This course covers a broad range of areas and will help you to develop the practical skills and theoretical knowledge you'll need to succeed in a career working with children and young people.  You'll study:      Child and young person development     Introduction to communication     Equality and inclusion     Paediatric First Aid     Supporting positive behaviour  You'll also be able to put all your learning into practice in a work placement which will be arranged by your tutor.

Entry requirements You'll need must have one of the following:      4 GCSEs at grades D or above including 1 at grade C or above in English language or maths     Level 1 CACHE Diploma plus GCSE English language and maths at grade D or above  Plus a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and a satisfactory reference from a school, employer or professional Adults 19+ who have industry experience but do not have the necessary qualifications can be invited in for interview. 4. Equipment required Where appropriate, any equipment required (e.g. protective clothing) will be discussed with you at interview/enrolment.
