This is an advanced course and is only available to those who hold a current Level 2 IT user qualification such as the ECDL Extra, BCS Level 2 iTQ Certificate, City & Guilds L2 IT User qualification or equivalent from another awarding body. A good understanding and experience of using office packages is essential.
Candidates may be asked to sit a Literacy, numeracy and IT assessment to ensure they are at the right levels for this course.
PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
The BCS L3 iTQ Award allows you to choose two or three of the ECDL advanced units (new 2009 syllabus)which on completion will lead to the iTQ qualification. The units to choose from are:
1. Word Processing
2. Spreadsheet Software
3. Database Software
4. Presentation Software
Currently taught using Microsoft Office 2003 the BCS L3 iTQ Award (ECDL Advanced) will enable you to prove your advanced skills in using these core office products. Students wishing to achieve the full iTQ certificate will need to complete all four software units plus one mandatory practical unit.
PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
On completion of this course you may wish to diversify into IT support with the CompTIA Level 1 Strata or Level 2 A+ course or specialise in web and media design with our levels 1, 2 & 3 City & Guilds or the Adobe Certified Associate course. Whichever route you choose the Level 3 iTQ will be a great help.
