Synopsis:
The most valuable asset most organisations have is their staff. Employing the right people in the right positions who can effectively work together is vital to the success of any business. If someone is employed who either doesn't have the necessary competence for the position or who does not fit in with their colleagues then it can be difficult to rectify the situation. Better then to get the right people in the first place.
As a result of attending the course, delegates should be able to:
- Clearly identify the position(s) for which applicants are going to be interviewed
- Identify the criteria against which applicants will be measured
- Understand the need to decide what type of interview is required
- Be aware of certain aspects of Employment Law in the context of the advertising, interview and selection process
- Identify what general preparation is required before an interview takes place
- Understand the need for an agenda for interviews
- Appreciate what questions should, or shouldn't be asked and in what sequence
- Know what questions should perhaps be expected from the applicants
- Know how to choose the right applicant
