Course programme

In business today, good communication skills are essential. Often success or failure can depend on a single presentation. Most of us have probably sat through presentations that we considered to either be very good – or, alternatively, very bad. But what is it that makes a really successful presentation? Understanding the key factors for success will make it easier for us to leverage our own abilities and improve our own presentations. This course demonstrates some of the essentials and allows participants to understand their own strengths and how best to use them to maximise their impact through compelling presentations.

This programme:
  • Introduces the basics of successful communication through presentation and how to create energetic and exciting presentations
  • Examines the ideal structure for successful presentations and provide guidance on the stages of design and preparation.
  • Demonstrates how presenters can gain maximum audience involvement and ways of maintaining audience control.
  • Describes when and how to use visual and other aids in presentations and list the important characteristics of good visual aids.
  • Describe ways in which presentations can be delivered in such a way as to generate action from the audience.
Approach
Acquiring the skills to communicate effectively through a presentation is a process of experience rather than observation hence this workshop is highly participative and the emphasis is on learning through practical exercise. Formal presentations are brief, leaving the majority of time for practice and coaching. All participants will receive detailed one-to-one coaching and feedback. Video recording is used to help and assist participants understand their own strengths in presenting and to demonstrate key areas for improvement
