The course aims to equip supervisors with the skills and confidence to support and challenge staff to better understand risk and the quality of work being undertaken with children and families.
At its core, Safeguarding Supervision is about improving the lives of the children, young people and adults you work with, the experience of staff and volunteers, and the quality and purpose of the work of the organisation.
About this course
Proposed Learning Outcomes:
Identify the purpose of supervision, with reference to safeguarding work
Explain the different models of supervision and their relationship to practice and safeguarding outcomes
Understand the importance of supervision in safeguarding practice
Apply principles of adult learning to your own supervision practice
Practice supervisory skills and deliver group supervision
Evaluate your own performance to apply your learning to real life situations and improve your supervisory practice
Undertake dynamic risk assessment during supervision
Recognise some of the unhealthy processes in supervision that may result in dangerous practice
Create clear, focused and reviewable plans and actions
To be able to apply healthy solution focused approaches to challenging decisions
This course is aimed at Designated safeguarding leads/officers, safeguarding champions, managers and individuals who supervise staff.
To have an understanding of Level 2 safeguarding.
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued after the training session.
A phone call/email will be sent out to determine if the course is right for you. Details of how to book the course will be given and when payment is made a further confirmation email will be sent. A few days before the training an email will be sent with the Zoom link information and any further documents required for the course.
