About this course

It is recommended that candidates have achieved a minimum of two GCSE's at grades C - D or above in Maths, Science or English based subjects or an equivalent qualification or suitable industrial experience.
Candidates will require an interview and complete a skills assessment. Candidates must be in current employment in a relevant, Electrical and Electronic Servicing environment.

Electrical and Electronic Servicing Apprenticeship

    One day per week is the minimum requirement to support the Technical Certificate although additional days can be included depending on the training needs of the business or individual. A full time off the job provision is also available if required.

Content
This Apprenticeship aims to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to be competent to the standard required by studying the Electronics Industry Core Units to meet National Standards at level 2.

Assessment
Candidates will be assessed through the use of examinations, practical and theory assignments. Assessment within the workplace will be required to complete the NVQ 2, producing a portfolio of evidence demonstrating competent applications within this industry.

Progression
Once complete, candidates can progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship.

  • Technical Certificate - An appropriate Level 2 award such as the Progression Award in Electrical and Electronic Servicing Consumer / Commercial Electronics
  • Key Skills - Application of Number Level 2, Communication Level 2 and Information Technology Level 1
  • NVQ Level 2 Qualification - City and Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Electrical and Electronic Servicing Consumer/ Commercial Electronics
