What will I study?
This course covers part of the technical certificate in Electrical Installation and it covers the essential underpinning knowledge for the national occupational standards. The course consists of practical skills and theoretical knowledge and it should be combined with the 2330 level 3 to gain the full technical certificate. This course has replaced the CGLI 2360 Part 1 and Part 2 qualifications.
How can I progress?
Employment and/or City and Guilde 2330 Level 3 followed by the NVQ 3 in Electrical Installation.
What will I need to qualify for this course?
In order to qualify for this course, students must; *Have GCSE grades (A-C) in Maths, English, IT and Science (Physics), *There is an assessment day when students will be graded as to ability (Though this is not something that students should worry about). The entry requirements for the part time day course will be a successful interview and applicants will be employed within the Electrical Contracting industry. A letter from an employer giving full commitment to releasing the student from work to attend the college is also required.
Course Structure
Whilst studying towards this qualification the following modules will be covered; *Working effectively and safely. *Principles of electrotechnology. *Application of health and safety and electrical principles. *Electrical installation (Buildings and Structures) *Practical Assignments Assessment is by 4, externally set, online multiple choice examinations, working safely/ principles of electrotechnology / application of health & safety / installation (buildings - structures), and a practical test
