This new HSE Emergency First Aid Course that came into effect on the 1st October 2009, replaces the old appointed persons course. The course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid Regulations) and is ideal for lower risk businesses. The course is run over 1 day and covers both theory and practical elements, all delegates attending the course are given an up to date first aid manual.

- Simple record keeping
- First Aid Kits
- What to do in an emergency
- CPR protocols
- Choking protocols
- Management of an unconscious casualty
- First Aid for the wounded or bleeding
- Burns and scalds
The HSE strongley recommend that all holders of this certificate attend an annual first aid update course, delegates are continually assessed by the tutor during the course and on successful completion of the course, delegates are deemed to have reached the required standard and are then awarded a certificate that is valid for three years.
