The course is. specifically designed to cater for those who would provide immediate cover until a fully qualified first aider arrives on the scene.

About this course

There are no prerequisites to attend this course other than a willingness to take control in a crisis situation. Delegates should be suitably dressed for an active participation course when attending training.

Tutor team

All Hailey Training tutors hold recognised adult teaching qualifications in addition to their First Aid Training qualifications. They all maintain Operational Competence as event First Aiders. All women groups can choose a female trainer if required

Course programme

Benefits:
This unit is mapped to NQF Standards and is compliant with insurance requirements and HSE guidelines. Successful learners are able to offer immediate and temporary care which could save a life and offer support to fully qualified First Aiders.

Outcome Certificate:
A certificate recognised by the Health and Safety Executive is
awarded to successful candidates.

Course Synopsis:

  • Principles of First Aid
  • Incident and Casualty Management
  • Resuscitation and Recovery Position
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Management of Wounds & bleeding
  • First aid boxes
  • Simple record keeping.

Details:
This is a 6 hour course which is delivered in a single day.

Testing:
A multiple choice theory paper with a 70% pass mark is combined with
assessment of the learners practical application of the key learning points.

Re-Qualification:
Every three years.
