It particularly suits students who are already studying on a degree and want extra practice alongside their course. It is also helpful for those considering entering university education in the near future.

Course programme
The course runs through topics which provide the context and focus for language and skills practice.
This course aims to:
- Address all four language skills in academic and professional contexts.
- Mirror many of the skills required in university study (critical thinking, group work, presentations, seminars, logical argument development, listening to lectures etc).
- Practice and develop language structures and vocabulary in the context of study and work.
- Review and practice styles of speech and writing appropriate for academic and professional situations such as meetings, debates, presentations, essays, letter writing and report briefs.
- Provide authentic settings and opportunities in a supportive and constructive environment.
- Encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning on an ongoing basis by activating their language knowledge and applying new language in a variety of contexts.
The course runs at three levels:
- Level 1: Intermediate – for students at a level of around IELTS 6.0;
- Level 2: Upper Intermediate – for students at a level of around IELTS 6.5; and
- Level 3: Advanced – for students at a level of around IELTS 7.0.
At the start of the course, we will conduct a test to put you in the correct level.
