About the course : CELTA is an initial qualification in English language teaching and is suitable for people who have little or no previous teaching experience. It is an initial teacher training course which will give you an ESOL teacher training qualification approved by DIUS, the British Council and ARELS.

After this course : DTLLS leading to fully qualified teacher status for those wishing to work in Further Education. Cambridge DELTA for those wishing to teach in language schools or abroad. Employment in ESOL teaching in further and adult education or in the private sector.

Entry Requirement
: You should have some level 3 qualifications (equivalent to A level). Applicants without these qualifications may be considered if they can demonstrate that they have the appropriate skills and ability to study at university level. Both native and non-native speakers of English may apply. In both cases you would need excellent personal use of English, equivalent to A level or Cambridge Proficiency grade A or B. You must be able to demonstrate some language awareness and an appreciation of the needs of asylum seekers and refugees. You will be asked to take a written assessment.
