What will I study?
AS - Aspects of Narrative: a study of two novels, one written after 1990 and two short collections of poetry from an anthology, including Tennyson, Keats, Rossetti, Browning, Hardy and Auden. The focus of study will be narrative method.

Dramatic Genres: a study of two plays, one of which will be Shakespeare's Othello. The focus of study will be tragedy.

A2 - Elements of the Gothic and Pastoral ( a choice of either): a study of 3 texts, novels and poetry, one pre-1800, from a selection ( to be decided).

Further and Independent Reading; a comparative study of two texts of the teacher's choice and application of critical ideas (pre-released anthology).

Study visits
Theatre visits are strongly recommended.

Cost
Normally no more than £10 per visit.

Assessment
AS - Two units, one internally assessed coursework comprising of two essays and one externally assessed, 2 hour examination.

A2 - Two units, one internally assessed coursework comprising of two essays and one externally assessed, 2 hour examination.
