Course programme

To equip participants with an understanding of how discrimination against disabled people fits into a social rather than a medical or individual context. To ensure that participants acquire an understanding of how the use of language and imagery around disability can empower or disempower disabled people. Placing disability into an equal opportunities framework, to examine disability at work. To examine current trends and developments in the disability movement and the implications of these. To outline some basic principles for consultation with disabled people about their services. To draw up a personal or individual action plan for implementing positive change and anti discriminatory practice at work.
