Is this course for me?
This course is for people with an interest in learning basic
bookkeeping and accounting, and who also want to improve their
general English.
What will I study?
You will learn basic bookkeeping procedures including: posting
to accounts ledgers), recording cash and credit transactions,
preparing bank reconciliation, maintaining petty cash, maintaining
cash book, maintaining ledgers computerised), creating accounts
using computerised software, processing sales and purchases
(computerised).
You will improve your general English in a programme which
includes grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking and
listening.
You will also study numeracy and IT.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have achieved Entry Level 3 in reading,
writing, speaking and listening. You will also be invited to attend
an interview and assessment.
How will I be assessed?
On the course you can take a range of ESOL, IT and Numeracy
exams depending on your level. You will also take an exam in
Bookkeeping Level 1 and Computerised Accounts Level 1.
What can I do next?
This can lead to progression to a higher level bookkeeping
course or courses in administration.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
