ESOL with Citizenship (Variable)

Level: This course is for complete beginners up to those with intermediate English.

What is the ESOL course?
This course is suitable for speakers of other languages who want to improve their English for personal or work reasons. You will study in a small group at your own pace. The course will help you to improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and widen your vocabulary and knowledge of British culture. You will take a nationally recognised qualification when you are ready.

NB An interview is required before you can enrol on this course.

Course topics
These may cover any or all of the following:

• Using the National Health Service
• Education
• Sport and Leisure
• Writing letters and emails
• Discussions
• Use of past tenses

Teaching and Learning
You will work in a small, friendly group with plenty of one-to-one support. You will have access to the internet during the lessons to do research and produce written work.

Assessment details
You will be given the opportunity to take a nationally recognised qualification (The British Citizenship test can only be taken externally).

Progression

• English GCSE
• Pre-Access to Learning (Level 2) -subject to Interview.
