Course summary
This course will give you a foundation in events management and combines it with the work experience and connections you need to start your career. On successful completion you can go on to the BA (Hons) Event Management top-up degree.
We take advantage of our London location, giving you the opportunity to attend high-profile events and a variety of venues to gain exposure to the industry in action. As well as live event projects, you’ll learn through practical teaching such as case studies and team projects, to understand the fundamentals of event management.
In addition, you will complete a work placement during your studies that will allow you to put theory into practice. This takes place at the end of your second year, and we will support you with finding a placement either in the UK or overseas.
Career and study progression
With a core understanding of the intricacies of event management combined with work experience, and exposure to an array of events across London, you will gain transferable skills for a range of careers in international or UK events management.
On successful completion you will be able to progress on to our BA (Hons) Event Management top-up degree.

Entry requirements
You will need 180 UCAS tariff points in a minimum of 2 subjects. These can include:
A Levels at grade B and C, or above
BTEC Extended Diploma with Merit, Merit, Pass
Access to HE Diploma
You also need GCSE English and Maths (grade A*-C) or Level 2 equivalents.
If you do not hold the above qualifications but possess relevant work experience, you are invited to apply. Your application will be considered on an individual basis.

Course programme
Your modules will give you the foundation needed for management-level roles, from operations and logistics to finance and marketing. You will also have the option to specialise in a specific sector of the events industry through your optional modules.
Your work placement usually commences at the end of your second year of study. You will work at an events-related employer in the UK or overseas. You must complete 26 weeks of full-time work and you will be assessed through a work in progress report. This report contributes to the assessment for the Research Methods for Management module.
