Fire Safety Awareness - Basic Fire Risk Assessment

A fire risk assessment will identify issues/concerns that need to be addressed and may identify additional training requirements:

‘Fire risk assessments should be carried out in compliance with the Regulatory reform (fire safety order) 2006. Under the order, anyone who has control or a degree of control of a building may be a responsible person and therefore would have to adhere to the criteria of the order e.g. employers, managing agent of shared premises, or any person who has some control over premises or part of i.e. (landlords)'.

Any responsible person who has a duty of care for the safety of employees and other relevant persons by effectively managing: Fire risk assessment, Fire safety policy, Fire procedures, Fire drills, Means of escape, Emergency lighting, Fire alarms and extinguishers, Fire doors and compartments, Emergency evacuation & Signs and notices.

The order applies to: Offices and shops, factories and warehouses, accommodations, health care premises, education, premises, places of assembly, transport premises and facilities, outdoor event locations & theatre and cinemas.

As a result of carrying out a fire risk assessment you may identify issues/concerns and gaps in employee training that need to be addressed:

We are able to deliver the following training:

  • Fire Risk assessment training
  • Fire Warden training
  • Fire safety awareness including legislation
  • Fire extinguisher training. Our mobile training unit gives delegates an opportunity to extinguish a fire within a controlled environment. It demonstrates the effectiveness, the characteristics and the limitations of the various types of fire extinguisher available for use within the workplace.
