What will I be doing?
- understanding drama
- devising
- acting
- learning about the performing arts business
- complete a final major project
How will I be assessed?
You are assessed throughout the year on your practical work, which includes your commitment to rehearsals as well as the quality of the final product. As the majority of drama work is group orientated, your attendance and punctuality are key to achievement for yourself and others. Some practical work will be seen by an external examiner, while some will be graded 'in-house' at BSix. You will also need to keep a diarylike portfolio, or 'actor's log book'. The rehearsal process and evaluation of the final product is recorded in the portfolio, which will be regularly checked and graded by your teacher.
Where do I go from here?
The BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs at grade C. After completing this course you can go on to take the National Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting), a two year course which will prepare you for either university or drama school.
