2. Course description Have you ever wondered what Mr Darcy ate for breakfast or what George III served at a Regency banquet? This course will take you on a culinary journey of discovery spanning the years 1714-1830. This was an era of sumptuous display and abject poverty, of manners and morals and unhappy marriages, of masters and servants and corsets and courting. Discover the rich world of Eighteenth Century and Regency society and the food that fuelled the era. Decipher handwritten period recipes, taste the food, try out the cooking techniques and discover what the saying ‘you are what you eat’ really meant for the Georgians.
