Objectives:
Industrial Counterbalanced Lift Trucks.This type of Lift Truck has a counter weight to balance the load on the fork arms. The fork arms and load project out from the front of the machine, loads can be raised or lowered vertically and the mast may be tilted forwards and backwards. This type of Lift Truck is only suitable for use on smooth surfaces.There are a wide range of attachments.No - one should be permitted to operate a Lift Truck unless he or she has been selected, trained and authorised to do so.

For Novice/ no previous experience of operating Fork Lift Trucks.

Pre-use inspection and takeover maintenance7. Weight assessment8. Handling laden and unladen pallets/stillage.9. Drive on and off ramps.10. Where possible vehicle loading and un-loading.11. Stacking/de-stacking - free-standing and in racking.12. Operators safety code.13. Lift truck stability.14. Final assessment programme (practical - written).
