The course is designed to provide an insight into the rationale behind strategic alliances and the practicalities of implementation. On completion of the course, participants will be able to: Understand the drivers behind a decision to form an alliance Identify the key benefits and risks Recognise the stages and processes involved Identify critical success factors and potential 'banana skins' Address issues relating to differences in corporate culture Ensure that implementation processes are fully aligned to strategic objectives. Suitable for: The course will be of particular interest to managers whose organisations are considering some form of strategic alliance, or have recently completed the process. Although the emphasis will be on joint ventures and mergers, many of the principles are equally relevant to acquisitions
