Validated by the University of Roehampton, this Foundation Degree seeks to support teaching assistants in gaining the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to work effectively as a skilled professional educator; it will also widen access to higher education and develop the career prospects of those supporting teaching and learning in primary and secondary education. Students have the opportunity to gain 240 credits and achieve a Foundation Degree. Students can then apply to do the final year and complete a further 120 level 6 credits and achieve a full Honours degree.These are work-based degrees that offer intellectually rigorous analysis of educational processes, systems and approaches within their cultural, societal, political, historical and economic contexts.
