The Foundation Diploma in Creative and Media is one of the exciting
courses that are changing the face of secondary and further education.

This course will enable you to develop a broad understanding of the creative industries. The course introduces you to a variety of techniques and processes within art, design and media.

The topics you will have the opportunity to study include:
· 2D and 3D art
· Graphic design
· Textiles
· Photography
· Film
· Costume design
· Advertising.

After an initial introduction you will be required to choose a subject pathway. The course will develop your personal learning, thinking skills and ability to work as part of a team. In addition to this the course will also encourage analytical, creative, problem-solving
and interpersonal skills. You will explore the work of artists and
designers and consider how they influence your own work. You will be given the opportunity to achieve additional qualifications alongside
your main course. These will include Functional Skills qualifications and can also include more specialist awards relevant to the subject you are studying.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed continuously during the course through a range of assignments, investigations and practical assessments. You will undertake work experience and complete a work-related project.
