About this course
On completion of this course you should be able to:
Critically analyse a range of supervision specific and counselling/psychotherapy models of supervision and analyse the impact of the various models and styles of supervision on the therapist and the supervisor.
Synthesise relevant supervision and educational theory in order to develop and maintain supervisory relationships with a higher order level of competence.
You'll need to:
Be a professionally qualified, experienced (minimum 12 months post-qualification) and accredited or accreditable counsellor and/or psychotherapist
Demonstrate ability to work at level 7, through previous study at postgraduate level
Provide photographic ID, such as a driving license or passport
Provide evidence of having studied at Higher Education level in the English Language or GCSE English Grade C

Course programme
This module examines both theories and models developed specifically within various counselling/psychotherapy approaches, as well as models developed that transcend therapeutic modality.
It will also examine the relationship between educational theory and supervision theories and ethical practice. These various models and theories will be examined through the lens of the therapist/ supervisor relationship.
