Teaching takes place in a well-resourced language laboratory, which makes learning more fun and interesting.

What will I study?
In year one:
· You will build on your success at GCSE. You will study language skills that will be practised and developed using the most authentic materials and latest technologies available. The course will be based on the study of the French-speaking world using various topics and issues including sport, education, leisure, youth culture and relationships.
In year two:
· The emphasis will be placed upon the development of the written language to cover the individual coursework element. Topics will include environmental issues, immigration, media and current affairs and you will have the opportunity to consolidate your language skills further.

How is the course assessed?
You will complete a variety of listening, reading and responding assessments.

What enrichment will there be?
Activities include:
· Work experience in France.

What can I do next?
A qualification in French can lead to study at university. Many students go on to study modern languages. Knowledge of a foreign language is a great asset in the business world.
You could also progress to further study in the arts, humanities and media.
