French Improvers (day)

Your Course
This 10 week course is suitable for those who have already studied French for at least a year or for those who know basic French. Instruction is given in French using visual and audio supports. The course aims to develop the skills of speaking, reading, listening and writing in French. It enables to understand native French speakers and helps them communicate in practical situations.
The course book is "Alter Ego", ISBN no: 9782011554208. It is also adviasable to buy the accompanying workbook: either ISBN 9782011554215 for Cahier d'activits (totally in French) or ISBN 9782011555199 for the Worbook (exercises introduced in English).
During this course students will take short internal assessment in reading and writing French at Preliminary level. This will help them to prepare for the OCR Asset Language test that will be taken at the end of the Improvers' year.

Your Tutor
Muriel Offord is a native speaker of French with a degree in technical translations from the University of Rennes. She has had several years experience of running her own language club, teaching French privately and in schools to infants and junior school children, as well as adults. She is a qualifed teacher who was, until recently, teaching to GCSE level at a local college. She is also a tutor for Historians in Cambridge Colleges, helping them to read, understand and translate historical texts.
Day and time: Friday 10am-12pm

Tuition fees: £95
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.

Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
