About this course
There are no formal entry qualifications although learners will need to be over 19 years of age and be able to demonstrate at interview Level 2 competency in Literacy, a minimum of Level 1 - 2 in Numeracy and complete a written comprehension exercise. Motivation and determination to succeed.

The pathway-specific subjects include: Drugs, Disease and Biological Defences, Human Physiology and Social Issues in Health Care. This course provides the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge appropriate for progression onto higher education courses. Assessment is through a combination of assignments and examinations. Homework or private study is required.
The course is run over 33 weeks. The first 3 weeks focus on the development of appropriate study techniques. Successful completion of the unit assessment is required for progression. Breaks are in accordance with the normal College calendar.
