Course Description
Archaeology is multi-disciplinary, drawing from and complimenting many other subjects. Through theory and practice of excavation, the interpretation of traditional religions and how they are expressed in the materials that remain today will be applied to the study of Prehistoric Europe. You will analyse the developments in societies and the parallels with the beliefs that the communities adopted. You will look at conservation work, the ethics of collecting and the work of archaeologists in police forensic work. Practical sessions will reinforce classroom learning.
Course Content AS Level
- Module 1: The Archaeology of Religion and Ritual
- Module 2: Archaeology Skills and Methods
- Module 3: World Archaeology
- Module 4: Archaeological Investigation Method of Assessment Examination and coursework.
AS to A2 level A2 progression to other AS/A2 Levels or Higher Education e.g. BA (Hons) or BSc.
Employment requiring a Level 3 qualification.
