Course Description:
This course is suitable if you are interested in a career in beauty therapy at a supervisory or management level.
Course Content:
This course covers various aspects of practical beauty therapy, including:
· facial and body therapy treatments
· epilation
· aromatherapy
· Indian head massage
· spa treatments
· sports massage
· nail technology.
Topics studied include: anatomy, physiology, dermatology and microbiology, together with salon management and health and safety. You will also gain additional qualifications in Key Skills.
Assessment:
Continuous assessment via assignments, projects, case studies, practical and oral assessment.
Next Steps:
Employment within the beauty industry. Alternatively, further study may be taken on the Holistic Therapies Diploma, Diploma in Theatrical and Media Make-Up or Higher Education to study for a HND or Foundation Degree in Beauty Therapy.
