About this course
You will need 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English, or successful completion of a Level 2 course in a related subject graded at merit or above with key skills to Level 2.

This course will provide you with a qualification that is designed to give you with an overview of the aviation industry. It is equivalent to two A-levels and prepares you for work in the airline industry.
What will I learn?
You will learn about different aspects of the aviation industry and study: * The Aviation Industry * Health Safety and Security in the Aviation Industry. * Meeting Customer Needs in the Aviation Industry * Air Travel Information. * Handling Air Passengers * Preparation for Working in the Aviation Industry. * Marketing the Aviation Industry. * Airline and Airport Economics * Airport Emergency Operations * First Aid and Health for Aviation * Team Leadership * Conflict Management You will receive weekly one-to-one and group tutorial sessions. The course will consist of many trips around the UK including, for example, Blackpool, Chester and a Residential European visit, which airline students are expected to be on. There is an opportunity for permanent full time work which may be offered on completion of the course with Servisair handling Agent at Manchester Airport & Swissport at Liverpool Airport. A uniform (suit) will be required for this course (approx £80.00), details will be discussed near the start of the course. You will also be required to purchase a Columbus World Travel Atlas to assist you with your studies/exams (approx £30.00).You will be required to attend a compulsory organised overseas residential visit which may be part subsidised by the college. We also recommend that all students have a fully valid passport.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by: Completion of assignments; completion of Key Skills portfolio and examinations; practical work; Work shadowing; Interview with course leader for position of employment.
What can I do after the course?
You may be able to undertake a permanent position of employment on succession of the course. You can progress in a wide variety of job roles within the industry and apply for a position of cabin crew.
