An important element of this programme is the tutorial programme which offers support and guidance to the group and to individuals throughout thier study.

Students will also develop skills in Communications, Application of Number and IT at a level appropriate to their own needs.

The course balances theory with practice throughout. Teaching and learning methods encourage the development of the vocational and interpersonal skills sought by today's employers. Particular emphasis is placed on enhancing professional and communication skills and group work is widely used to develop a team approach to problem solving.

Entry Requirements:
All applications will lead to a formal interview where all interviewees will need to provide evidence of previous IT knowledge and skills in the form of a portfolio and complete a course related task.

Students will be expected to successfully pass an assignment in the first four weeks of term in order to continue on the course.

Assessment and Progression:
Coursework is assessed continually during the year. Assessment is by grading from 'Pass' to 'Distinction'.
Assessment of Key Skills is by portfolio work and online exam.

From this course you could continue onto our HND or degree course, go onto University or find employment

Duration:
The Award and Certificate are separate full time programmes of one year. The certificate is offered to students who gain 54 points on the Award and show satisfactory commitment to the course during the 1st year of study.

Fees:
Students on a full-time course of 12.5 hours a week who are aged under 19 on 31 August are entitled to free tuition and no exam fees provided they are European Union Citizens.
