Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at grades A to C or a BTEC First qualification.

Course content
This 18 unit vocational course will include 4 core topics exploring business activity and look at the resources necessary to achieve effective people, communication and information flows. It will also include an introduction to marketing. The remaining 12 units are chosen from a wide variety of specialist topics offering a very flexible qualification. Students could mainly specialise in a number of areas including finance, human resources, marketing or a combination of these subjects.

How Will I Be Assessed?
Assessment is completed across the two years in assignment work. Each student is to compile a portfolio of evidence. Each unit has outcomes you must cover in order to pass. Grading is done on a Pass, Merit and Distinction basis. Assessment will come in many different forms: presentations, essays, reports, role plays. There are no examinations.
Should a student not complete the full 18 units it may be possible to cash in for a 12 unit certificate or a 6 unit award to gain some qualification in business from this 2 year course.
What Can I Do Next?
This is a universally recognised vocational qualification in business and can lead onto higher education, or work in many areas of business management.

There may be visits which can bring assignments to life and students may be asked to make a nominal contribution towards the total cost.
