Description of course:
Your studies will include a series of units including: Introduction to working with children Development from conception to 16 years Supporting children Keeping children safe The principles underpinning the role of the practitioner working with children Promoting a healthy environment for children Play and learning in childrens education Caring for children Development of professional skills within childrens education plus 3 optional units You will spend alternate weeks in placement in college

Progression opportunities and careers:
You will be able to progress on to higher study at HNC, HND or degree level, alternatively the CACHE Diploma will also give you a professional child care qualification which enables you to work in a wide range of child care and educational settings including nursery, infant or primary schools, day nurseries, family centres, hospitals and voluntary areas.

Entry requirements:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above or a merit/distinction grade at a Level 2 vocational course

Specific entry requirements:
GCSE English at grade C or above

All full time students will undertake a combination of additional qualifications that will enhance their study skills and those skills that will be important in employment
