You are expected to be available to attend college up to four days which may include Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm.
Course Description
The qualification is aimed at learners who would like to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress in to a career as Air Cabin
Course Structure
The qualification is made up of six core units:
- 201 Introduction to Airline Aviation Operations
- 202 Health, Safety and Security
- 203 Airline Emergency Procedures
- 204 Crew Duties
- 205 Role of Cabin Crew (on board)
- 206 Preparation for employment as Air Cabin Crew
The following units must be completed to achieve:
- Award- 201,202
- Certificate- 201,202,203,205
- Diploma- 201,202,203,205,204,206
Learners will also be required to complete one Key Skill
Additional language and Travel/Aviation qualification is optional
Course Assessment
Learners will be assessed through a variety of practical and written assignments for each unit.

- You should successfully complete a three day travel and tourism taster session held during the summer
Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.
All students will be required to wear an industry standard uniform and purchase a neck scarf or tie priced at £10 and a Columbus Travel Atlas approximately £20
Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.
Visits will be arranged to Organisations, Regional Attractions, Industry Events and Airports. There will also be a residential visit arranged for which the maximum cost is forecast to be £350
Course Progression
Students may progress on to level 3 Aviation or Travel and Tourism course
Course Career Prospects
The course is designed to provide potential Cabin Crew with the underpinning knowledge required by the airline companies for entry in to the profession.
