Description of course:
A new vocational qualification specialising in The Built Environment, Sustainability and Maintenance of the Environment. A range of units combine with support topics (see content) to provide a project style learning situation with pathways to a professional career in the built environment industry. Units in planning, surveying, sustainable materials, project planning, efficiency and maintenance will be supported by employers and open a multitude of career opportunities. This is project based and is particularly suited for self motivated learners where team working is essential. The theme will be on Design and Improve the Community and The Built Environment as advised by our employers from the programme design team.

Method of assessment:
The main study units are internally assessed with some external testing and moderation. Project working with a team is essential. Guidance and assessment criteria will be given at the start of the course.

Progression opportunities and careers:
You may seek employment and return to college to follow an HNC/D programme or progress to Higher Education for a Degree in your chosen speciality in the field of environment or associated subject. This is a major development area for employment.
