Course Description:
**New Course**
The Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment introduces you to the world that we have created and is particularly relevant to students in the new city of Milton Keynes. It provides you with an understanding of land and materials, how the built environment affects people and communities, and what factors influence its development.
Course Content:
The Construction and the Built Environment Diploma covers a wide range of different industries such as:
- Construction
- Design and Architecture
- Planning and Environmental Issues
- Surveying
- Sustainability
- Facilities Management.
The Diploma has been developed by industry and education specialists to help you gain the right mix of skills and understanding. The range of topics you will study brings together these related industries, so that you will be able to understand how industries work.
Students taking a Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment will complete a series of compulsory and optional elements.
Assessment:
Students will be continually assessed throughout the course as well as assembling a portfolio of their work. They will be required to formally present their work and take part in workshops and presentations. There will be exams in English, Maths and IT, and students will also be required to work on a specialist project, which will involve a considerable amount of independent study.
