CSkills Course in Painting and Decorating (Apprenticeship Programme)

Course Details

You will specialise in all aspects of Painting and Decorating. See Construction Craft courses for what is involved in this trade. You will need to apply online for this course to the CSkills This course is for people aged between 16 and 19 who want to work in the Painting and Decorating trade. During the first year you will spend 18 weeks at the College's Queen's Gardens Centre and 30 weeks on a work placement with an employer. In the second year and third year only 8 weeks are spent in College and 40 weeks with your employer. You will achieve the Construction Diploma Level 1 and 2 alongside the NVQ Level 2 and Construction Diploma Level 3 alongside the NVQ Level 3, together with additional qualifications and Key Skills.

You will need to pass the CSkills entrance test and interview.

32 hours per week

Additional info:
Safety footwear and overalls must be worn in all workshops. We do not allow the use of safety trainers except in painting and decorating where this may be appropriate.

Progression:
After the CSkills course, which helps you learn all the craft skills, you may decide to take further qualifications leading to a job as a manager, supervisor, quantity or building surveyor or a site agent etc.
