Description of course:
This course is designed for young people with mild to moderate learning difficulties who have not achieved any GCSEs. The students will study a range of subjects to help them to develop their personal skills, including independent living skills and preparation for work for which they will gain a nationally recognised accreditation. The course also offers young people the opportunity to improve their functional skills in English, Maths and IT.

Method of assessment:
Students will collect a portfolio of their work and do assignments in class.

Progression opportunities and careers:
Students may progress to Level 1 courses or to courses to help them to prepare for employment.

Entry requirements:
There are no entry requirements. Applicants will be interviewed.

Additional qualifications studied:
All full time students will undertake a combination of additional qualifications that will enhance their study skills and those skills that will be important in employment.
