What will I study?
The Foundation Degree in Early Years Education & Care has been developed in response to identified needs within the early years sector, to raise standards of provision and to provide appropriate recognition for professionals working with children. It has been designed to meet the needs of those seeking a Higher Education qualification relating to early childhood, which is identified as 0-16 years. Assessment will take the form of; *Essays *Case Studies *Presentations *Reports *Research Activities *Group Work Students will have access to LLC at Hugh Baird College and at the University of Central Lancashire.
How can I progress?
For those employed in an early years setting the Foundation Degree will support career progression as a senior practitioner. Successful students can also progress on to Honours Degree at University (one year further study). Students may also have the opportunity to use their experience to claim a Higher Level Teaching Assistant Award (HLTA). By taking optional units in the second year, learners can progress onto the integrated care route which may lead the learner onto a career working with youth and community work.
