If you are interested in gardening and following a career in Horticultural. Greenfingers will develop your knowledge of plants and planting.

What will I be learning?

Course information: This course includes basic skills in literacy, numeracy
and information technology, which are built into the curriculum both as embedded learning and specific taught lessons.
On completion students will gain a national qualification.

How will I learn?

Working in small groups and accessing the specialist garden environments, learning will be delivered and promoted by vocationally experienced tutors and guest presenters who will support and enable you to develop skills required to work in a garden using a range of skills such as; willow weaving and cob sculptures. This will help you towards completing your individual goal(s) and to obtain nationally recognised qualifications. Practical application will support the underpinning theory, and regular tutorials with your personal tutor will monitor and assess your individual achievements.

What else might I want to know?

Work completed on this course continues to develop personal confidence and self esteem by working with other students from the College, schools and industry. Many of the tasks completed are out doors, so a willingness to work in all weathers is essential.
The opportunity to go on a residential that reflects the industry is presented to the group in the third term, much of the work completed is show cased and promoted on a regular basis.

What can I do afterwards?

Following the successful completion of the course you may be able to access entry level /level 1 courses in Horticulture or a related topic.
