Course Description:
This course is designed for those of 16 years of age with learning difficulties wishing to develop skills for the catering industry, whilst improving their Skills for Life in literacy and numeracy.
Course Content:
In addition to your main learning programme of food preparation and cooking, you will be given support with the appropriate literacy, numeracy and development of team work and communication. Within the programme, you will be required to complete four mandatory units, gathering evidence throughout the year to produce a portfolio and four practical units. In addition to this, candidates will complete a food safety certificate.
Assessment:
Your lecturer will assess you throughout the course. An internally-assessed portfolio of evidence will be produced and there will be a final externally-marked written test covering the units.
