  • Store Materials & Equipment
  • Erect & Dismantle Basic Working Platforms
  • Work Efficiently
  • Prepare the Work Area for Operations
  • Prepare Surfaces for Decorating
  • Apply Paint Materials by Brush & Roller
  • Apply Standard Wallpapers to Non-Complex Surface Areas
  • Apply Basic Specialist Paint Finishes
  • Practical & Knowledge Phase Test


Entry requirements: An interview with tutors or possession of the Foundation Construction Award or basic skills within painting and decorating.

Progression/Career Opportunities:
  • Provides an opportunity to gain employment within the Construction Industry, leading to a full NVQ.
  • Alternatively progress onto the Advanced Construction Award.
