Opportunities to gain extensive experience in routine animal care and handling in partnership with a local farm and in the college animal house. Regular work placement in local animal related industries such as animal sanctuaries, veterinary practices, pet shops, kennels and stables.

Progression Routes
This course attracts UCAS points equivalent to 3 A2 Levels, is acceptable for university entrance and prepares students very well for study at higher levels. Since the units cover a wide range of both practical and theoretical topics, there are many subject routes for progression including: Animal Management, Agricultural Science, Biological Science, Marine Biology, Environmental Science and Animal Behaviour and Welfare. Some students may choose to progress directly into employment from the course. The knowledge and skills gained equip students well for this option and work placement, visits and speakers expose the students to the breadth of options available.
