What will I learn?
You will study eighteen units over two years that focus on aspects within the motor vehicle sector. There are four core units, which are, Operation of Vehicle Systems, Vehicle Engine Principles, Operation, Service and Repair, Vehicle Fault Diagnosis and Rectification and Vehicle Technology Project.

There are thirteen optional units which are 1) Vehicle Electrical and Electronic Principles, 2) Engine Electrical Charging and Starting Systems, 3) Petrol Injection Systems for Spark Ignition Engines, 4) Diesel Fuel Injection Systems, 5) Operation and Testing of Vehicle Electronic Ignition systems, 6) Vehicle Engine Management Systems, 7) Light Vehicle Transmission Systems, 8) Vehicle Electronic Ancillary and Information Systems, 9) Vehicle Suspension, Steering and Braking Systems, 10) Maths for Technicians, 11) Engineering Drawings for Technicians and 12) Communication for Technicians.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a combination of vocational related written assignments, practical assessments and academic written assignments.

What can I do after the course?
On achievement of this qualification you can go onto higher education at a university or seek employment as a technician in the motor trade or related industry
