This 1-year NVQ level 1 Administration & Office IT course is designed for students who wish to develop new or existing skills required by today?s businesses. Training is provided to cover a range of administration activities, which include, welcoming visitors, handling mail and using office equipment. You will also develop administrative and office expertise whilst undertaking real work in our Virtual Reality Company or in industry. You will also attend Trade Fairs developing employability and entrepreneurial skills. Alongside the NVQ programme you will also study the Welsh Baccalaureate where you will explore a wide range of areas including how Wales ?fits in? with Europe and the rest of the world, a language option such as sign language and also how to be enterprising within an employment context. You will also study Key Skills, which are integrated into the course. This course has been designed to enhance your employment opportunities by preparing you for a wide variety of administration and office occupations across all sectors of employment.

There are no formal qualifications required, although you will be invited to attend an interview.

What will I study?
You will study: NVQ Administration Level 1 - 2 Mandatory Units and 2 Optional Units Information Technology with options which may include : Spreadsheets; Database; PowerPoint; Desktop Publishing; Electronic Mail. New Text Processing Business Professional Award Level I: Text Processing; Audio Transcription and Business Presentations (PowerPoint). You will also study the Welsh Baccalaureate core modules with the Key Skills of Communication, Application of Number, ICT, Working with Others and Improving Own Learning.

How will I be assessed?
NVQs will be internally assessed and externally moderated, all NVQ qualifications are competence based. Text Processing Awards are external examinations held in February and June. Welsh Baccalaureate and Key Skills assessments are via portfolio evidence. Units of Information Technology will be internally marked and externally moderated.

Career Opportunities & Progression
After successful completion of this course you can progress to the NVQ Level 2 Administration & Office IT.
