Course Level: Level 2
This one-year course enables students to gain experience with some of the practical and mechanical aspects of engineering.

What will I study?
Students will be required to develop workshop skills in machining and should become competent in the use of lathes and milling machines.
The course will also cover how to produce working drawings by manual draughting and by the more modern technique of CAD.

What next?
Students who successfully complete this course may go on to employment in a variety of engineering occupations or may progress on to the National Diploma. The National Diploma is a recognised route into Higher Education from which previous students have gone on to study for Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Computerised Production (CAE), and Design.
