Course Description:
These courses are offered within MK6, the sixth form centre. If you are enthusiastic about the world of drama, then this course will provide you with a Level 2 qualification, covering various aspects of the performing arts industry, including acting in different types of productions.
Course Content:
You will study various areas of performance and acting, including the business side of
the industry. The course helps to build confidence and to develop communication skills through performance.
Assessment:
You will be assessed throughout the course through practical and written tasks, which culminate in an assessed, end of year production.
Next Steps:
Many students progress to the National Diploma in Performing Arts. Your First Diploma can, however, also lead to employment in the performing arts industry. If you decide not to seek a career in performing arts, many of the skills gained can be used in other fields
of work and study.
Assessment:
Continuous assessment throughout the course, except for two units, which have external
assessment.
Next Steps:
Foundation Degree in Travel & Tourism or other Higher Education courses or employment within the sector.
